KEEP A SMILE ON MY FACE

by Princess Pat Akpabio

Smile, they say is a free therapy. Like Mine, i make it warm to everyone and it’s a known norm at home, even to my visitors, for a
warm smile is the universal language of kindness.

Personally, ive been through hell and back, yet I’ve found the strength in God to keep a smile on my face. I’ve been “abused”, rejected, dejected, confused, cheated, frustrated, lied to, belittled, exposed to so much danger, taken for granted, accused wrongly, misunderstood, pointed a gun on my head & stereotyped, etc yet I’ve found the strength in God to keep a smile on my face. Such a reality!

I’ve cried myself to sleep, I’ve cried myself awake, I’ve cried bitter tears of pains and sorrows, I’ve cried a million times, yet I’ve found the strength in God to keep a smile on my face.

I’ve been sick to the point of death, and God raised me. I didn’t think I’ll have children but I have my quivers full of them today.
I’ve been through so many untold sorrows and pains, yet I’ve found the strength in God to keep a smile on my face.

I tell people “I’m a hustling child of God” they laugh because to them, all that glitters is Gold but they fail to know that “water under enough amount of sunlight glitters, snow glitters under enough amount of sunlight.” They glitter under a process.

Don’t be in a hurry to judge me based on what you’ve seen or hearrd, until you hear my full story because under my disarming smile is a young woman who has passed through FIRE, ABUSE, REJECTION etc.

I’ll say it again ” MY MISTAKES ARE NO WORST THAN YOURS JUST BECAUSE I AM A WOMAN”-Dolly Parton.

Every day of my life I look forward to my RISING because God is the lifter of my head. I’ve learnt to depend more on God than anybody. I’ve learnt that people you love, when they wrong you in this neck of the wood, they will never take responsibility for their wrongs, rather they look for others to blame for their wrong deeds on you and up till now I can’t reconcile the differences of “taking responsibility and accusing an innocent person for your actions”.

With everything I’ve been through in this life, I address my verses to those who are battling with unhappiness, abuse of all forms, lies, rejection, pains, sorrows, guile, being misunderstood Etc.

God isn’t asleep. He is alive. He is alive, even yesterday, today and forever. Keep pushing until you achieve your breakthrough.

Emancipate yourself from limitations of life and begin to see possibilities in God that you deserve the BEST. The God of vengeance will fight for His children.

Upon all I’ve been through “I’ve found the strength in God to keep a smile on my face”.
Awake from the challenge and keep a smile on your face, today.
